We provides an enterprise level IT service offering for Microsoft Engineering teams across the globe. The role involves providing IT support to a team of 30+ Engineers, ranging from deskside to server infrastructure. This is a hands-on role so requires a strong & inspirational individual who enjoys all round IT work.

Key Responsibilities

Server / Network Rooms

  • Racking equipment & provisioning hardware as/when required (Servers, Network hardware)
  • Patch panel cabling
  • Client OS Encryption & Security Management (BitLocker & Endpoint Protection)
  • Active Directory Object Management
  • GPO Creation and Management
  • File Server & DFS Management
  • Break fix of Servers, desktops, laptops, devices & peripherals
  • Troubleshooting performance issues on systems (Servers and custom-built
  • workstations)
  • Liaising with OEM partners for support and tracking right through to resolution

Setup, Deployment & Support

  • Configuration and deployment of OS images to Lab desktops and devices using Microsoft deployment products
  • Troubleshooting performance issues on systems
  • Liaising with OEM partners for support and tracking right through to resolution
  • Client & Server OS Encryption & Security Management

Break Fix & Support

  • Break fix of desktops, laptops, devices & peripherals
  • Smart hands for central printing services
  • Troubleshooting performance issues on systems (including custom-built workstations)
  • Liaising with OEM partners for support and tracking right through to resolution
  • Familiar with networking and all supported operating system platforms (i.e. Windows Client, Mac, Android, etc.)
  • Perform maintenance repair and system overhauls as a matter of routine (like modular swaps and unit replacements). You’ll surely always be on the lookout for preventative measures you can take to correct all technical problems before they happen.

Asset Tracking

  • Tracking all hardware in central asset database
  • Audits of all hardware & reporting
  • Inventory management of onsite Infrastructure including spares
  • Working with procurement leads on goods receipting & asset tagging
  • Tracking Maintenance & Renewal (M&R) contracts for all hardware assets
  • Software tracking in Asset DB

Networking

  • Smart hands support for Lab Network infrastructure.
  • 1GigE/10GigE networking knowledge, basic configuration, and administration
  • Meraki, Arista and Cisco experience desirable
  • Infrastructure connectivity to various networks

SAN/Network Storage

  • Ability to create LUNS/Volumes
  • CIFS/FC Shares
  • Understanding of Fabric switches

Software

  • 3rd party software, utilities, and drivers for various hardware components
  • In house developed tools and application deployment as required Virtualization
  • Provisioning Virtual machines and maintaining template libraries
  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Centre Virtual Manager & Hyper-V Networking
  • Infrastructure Maintenance
  • Server and Client OS updates using Windows Update and/or WSUS
  • 3rd Party application patching to an agreed patch compliance threshold
  • Firmware updates

Applicable Education and Experience

  • Working experience supporting customers’ PC and/or AV environments with an interest in learning more
  • Degree in Computer/IT Studies or related field or at least 5years of experience in IT implementation and maintenance
  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills AV hardware & software applications
  • PC hardware & software functions

Preferable Certifications

  1. Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certifications desired
  2. OEM Certifications- HP, Apple, Dell, Lenovo, MS desired
  3. AV Certifications Desired
  4. A+ Certification, CompTIA, N+ Certification, PC

Skill & Experience

4 – 5 years of related experience in an Sr. IT support role
  • Knowledge of Supporting and Troubleshooting Windows Client (Win 10, Win 11) and Server operating (Win 2012, 2016 +)
  • Familiarity of Meraki & Cisco Technology
  • Familiarity and understanding with DNS, DHCP & Active Directory
  • Understanding of network protocols (VLAN, QOS, WAN & LAN)
  • Understanding and familiarity of SAN technology
  • Understanding of network hardware, Peripherals & Cabling (Routers, Switches, SFPs, Fibre & Copper Cabling etc)
  • Understanding of Microsoft products (Office, O365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint)
  • Racking, cabling and installation and support of hardware: Networking equipment, servers/workstations, desktops, etc
  • Deployment of custom OS images
  • PC’s and devices mainly using Microsoft deployment products such as WDS, MDT, SCCM and WSUS
  • Asset Tracking & Maintaining Inventory
  • Experience in virtual environments preferably with Hyper-V & VMWARE
  • Monitoring the health and performance of all Windows infrastructure to ensure service availability and Security patching compliance
  • Create and maintain documentation of environment processes and procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated & takes direction well to learn & grow.
